Rehabracadabra: Using Magic and Other Creative Therapies to Maximize Functional Outcomes
Overview: Learn how to make even your most resistant clients excited about rehab! Participants will learn how magic, juggling & other interactive treatment techniques can be used therapeutically to enhance gross and fine motor skills, cognitive skills, sensory motor and communication skills. These techniques can be used in a variety of settings, including but not limited to the school, hospital, nursing homes, clinic and home. Attendees will discover how magic can help them develop a rapport with their client, challenge and even entertain them- helping with carry over outside of the therapy session. This course is a must as another tool in your tool box for any professional that is interested in putting the FUN back into function!
Course Objectives:
- Gain an in depth understanding of how magic and other creative therapies can be used as an effective therapeutic modality in a variety of clinical settings
- Examine how to apply magic therapy to target a variety of disorders to improve skills including but not limited to coordination, cognitive processing, ROM, socialization, speech, proprioception, etc.
- Discover how magic, juggling, and other creative skills can be used to motivate clients to new skill levels, empower the provider as a new tool for treatment and help improve function
- Review documentation for reimbursement
- Discover how to incorporate nontraditional innovative treatment techniques into your “therapeutic tool bag” to create individualized client centered treatment with little to no additional expense

A certificate for six participation hours will be awarded at the end of the workshop.
Learners will be required to complete a multiple choice evaluation at the end of each learning activity in order to receive CEU credit documentation.
Certificates will be sent to registered email at the conclusion of on-site workshops. Participants can download documentation after a web based learning.
Distance learning will receive documentation within two weeks of submission of evaluation.
Participants will earn a certificate for 6 contact hours with all information required by NBCOT.
